UFC vs. Affliction Quick Event Review

1.  Weekends like this make ALL MMA fans the winner.  We got to see two of the best fighter’s on the planet fight on the SAME night. 

2.   Fedor is THE #1 HW in the world…and Randy Couture does not want to fight that man.   Seriously, he would get dismantled and that’s not even up for discussion.  Andre Arlovski finally fights like a pitbull again…and can we finally get Fedor/Barnett please…or at least Fedor/Arlovski…because the Couture fight ain’t happening anytime soon…if it even happens at all.

3.  I think Anderson Silva could fight Forrest Griffin right now…and kick his ass…that is a bad mofo right there.

4.  The upgrade in UFC production is lovely and much appreciated…to the graphics…camera’s showing cornermen working feverishly to give instruction to their fighters…thanks Zuffa….and also thanks for showing 7 FREE fights.  Dana White is the man.

5.  Affliction…the show was entertaining…however, all of the fight’s went just about how everyone thought they would…and that’s a given being that Affliction is trying to build an organization.  However, some parts of the show were sorely lacking…camera angles, mic technicalities, and those dim ass lights during the fighter intro’s…but other than that…a solid show.  Oh, I almost forgot…that ring is HUGE…please discard it before your next card…and get a smaller one.

6.  Cain Velasquez is a BEAST…also, anytime Jake O’Brien loses it’s a good night with his boring self.  Anthony Johnson needs to stop playing around and let those hands go…Vera’s fight was subpar…but I expect him to learn from the first weight cut to 205 and come back stronger next time….Oh and Rory Markham…welcome to the UFC brother..that KO was a thing of beauty…but damn…what’s up with all those pimples on your chest and back man?

Drop by the site tomorrow…as it’s late and I have to take my daughter to get her first vacinations on tomorrow.  I’ll be posting up detailed thoughts on the future of the Affliction organization and hopefully I’ll have an update on what’s going on with Rampage Jackson…and the results from DREAM 5.
