Wow@ Tim Sylvia getting paid that much money for getting his ass whipped in 36 seconds.  With the amount of money that Affliction spent on their first show….it’ll be amazing if they last more than 3 shows.

I saw someone suggest this on another site so it’s not really my idea but here it is…

Could Affliction potentially hide part of a fighter’s salary inside their sponsorship deal through Affliction Clothing with a fighter?

That way they could write part of a fighter’s salary off as a business expense because it’s hidden in the sponsorship.

Could that explain what seems to be a low payday for Fedor?

Or is Fedor getting a bonus tied to PPV revenue?

Or is $300,000 really all Fedor made?

  2. Kelvin Hunt Says:

mattman…I really can’t answer that out-right…however,I think Fedor got a signing bonus of some sort before the fight…and will get a % of the PPV. I read somewhere(can’t remember the source) that his final payday total will be around 1.5 million.

  3. mattman73 Says:

That $1.5 million is what I thought rumor had him getting paid also.

So I was quite surprised to see only $300,000 for Fedor.

There isn’t no way to find out what PPV bonus a fighter gets is there?

  4. Kelvin Hunt Says:

I think he was paid prior to the show…so that’s why they only reported the 300,000. As far as what PPV bonus a fighter gets…it’s determined by the organization.

    Here’s one model though…If the PPV get’s 100,000-150,000 buys…the fighter gets $1 per buy…if the PPV get’s 200,000-300,000 the fighter it’s $2 per buy…if the PPV get’s 500,000 buys…the fighter get’s $3 per buy…or something to that effect…but that’s not verbatim.
