Hermes Franca threw the right hand that caught Spenc from behind his knee and with his head down… watch it. Spencer “The King” Fisher has never, EVER, been knocked out or finished besides with Hermes Franca and Hermes never knocked him down, he just simply got caught, also the referee in the fight was new to the UFC and has not since been back that I am aware of. Spencer Fisher will win the belt in 09′. Period.

Thiago’s aggressive style is a perfect matchup for Lyoto’s counterstiking style, and Machida WILL take Silva’s 0! Machida is MUCH too intelligent and skilled to get caught in a boring predicatable GnP oppoenent. If you watch a lot of Thiago’s previous fights, his opponents came close to finishing him early in the rounds but always ended up making an aggressive mistake which resulted in Silva’s favor. In ALL of Machida’s fights, The Dragon always controlled the fight and often made his opponents look like puzzled amateurs; and Thiago won’t be the acception. It’ll be exciting to watch Machida skillfully pick apart, and probably frustrate, Silva for three rounds. Machida simply has too many tools in his bag of tricks for Thiago to handle.

You can’t change the world by keeping you mouth shut and not doing a damn thing.

I think he has every right to say something. Those UFC contracts have confidentiality clauses and all kinds of other stuff in them that ain’t necessarily fair.

I know, I know, then he shouldn’t have signed it. Well look in other sports they started out not even having free agency in baseball and football. How did that get changed? Somebody spoke out.

That is how change will happen you have to have guys like Huerta willing to stand up and put himself on the line. Guys like Curt Flood that stood up for change in baseball and that virtually ended his career. Maybe that isn’t a fair comparison but it’s part of my point. Somebody has to stand up and start the change.

Other sports athletes spent decades with unfavorable contracts. Finally someone stood up and said this isn’t right. Those initial guys that stood up benefited little from their actions but those that followed did greatly.

It appears to me you see him as a whining athlete.

He wasn’t just concerned about his contract he was concerned about others as well.

I see him as a man wanting change for the sport he loves.

What is wrong with that?

Having recently read Randy’s biography, i’ve found out the man isn’t quite the gentleman some would have us believe, what with his extra marital affairs and his sometimes immature and selfish actions and motivations, but, as far as his career goes i really don’t see how he can be questioned.

If he’d gone onto fight Nog, and won, he would still be facing the same problem, as the UFC have a champions clause in every fighter’s contract. If he’d won, and kept his title, he would still be locked up in a contract and be facing the same legal actions to try and get a go at Fedor.

Randy himself has been quite honest about the whole debacle, he wants to end his career by fighting the person, who in his eyes is, the best heavyweight fighter in the world. No-one else interests him as much and he knows he probably only has one fight left in him.

Well…according to the latest vlog from Dana White on today…I doubt Ortiz is negotiating with the UFC. Unless he’s speaking directly with Lorenzo Fertitta(which he’s done in the past).

Ain’t no tellin’ with this cat. He probably is trying to leverage some things. He might also not have gotten quite the deal from Affliction that he previously bragged about either. Talks might have hit a snag. Cat may have overvalued himself.

Sheeeeeit, what article is this bro……you got me itchin’ to read what this cat said now. LOL.

No doubt, a contract is a contract is a contract. Adhere to it. Although, I have NO problem with athletes in any sport that seek to renegotiate a contract. Especially if you have ‘out-performed’ said contract. Not saying that Huerta has or hasn’t, but I think that promoters, owners whatever, have to be open to the possibility, especially if the sport is growing, and said player / fighter etc is a prime contributor to that. Now, with that being said, I am not a fan of doing so in a public nature. Especially if you’re attempting to use that as leverage to force the league to the table, or to adhere to certain demands. Handle that behind closed doors with some sense of pride and dignity.
